Flicka Margalit
Hull PCS200870479 · Built 1979 · Rappanhannock Yachts, Irvington, VA
In Flicka Friends
Dave Arnold bought this 1979 Flicka in the April before he wrote, and had recently renamed her Margalit. He set out the refit in Flicka Friends #48 (Winter 2012): sails repaired and the jib modified for a new roller furling system, shore power installed with new AC and DC wiring and a new breaker box, the mast rewired, new running rigging and two new shrouds, Newfound Metal stainless steel ports aft, a new compass, a repaired depth sounder, a new VHF antenna, a relocated porta-potti, a platform for a water tank under the v-berth, and a new fuel tank and gauge. Still on the list were four more stainless ports, rub rails, jack lines, more interior wiring, and an inverter.
She is kept on Carter’s Creek at Rappahannock Yachts in Irvington, Virginia, and Arnold noted that even in the middle of the work she was very much ready to sail the Rappahannock River and the Chesapeake Bay.
