Add or update a Flicka in the database
The FlickaBase is curated by hand. To add a new boat, change ownership, refresh photos, or flip a listing on or off the for-sale board, email the Web Captain — that's the whole workflow. Most updates go live within a few days.
Helpful things to include:
- Boat name (and previous names, if known)
- Hull number — the HIN, or the Pacific Seacraft sail number
- Year and builder (Pacific Seacraft, Nor'Star, Westerly, or owner-built)
- Current owner and home port
- Photos — attach as JPGs, ideally a clear hero shot plus any rig, interior, or sailing pictures
- For sale? Asking price, contact info you'd like published, and any sale documents (PDFs are fine)
- Anything else — passage logs, refit notes, history, articles you'd like archived
Going lo-fi keeps the site simple to run and the data clean. If owner self-service ever becomes useful enough to justify the engineering, we'll revisit.
Other useful places
- Flicka 20 owners' group — moved from Yahoo to Groups.io when Yahoo retired. The day-to-day discussion still happens there.
- Boat records — search the FlickaBase by name, hull number, or owner before writing in. Most "is my Flicka in the registry?" questions answer themselves there.
- For sale — owner listings cycle every two months on the for-sale board. See the section above for what to send.
Replies usually within a week. Submissions of new boats, photos, or passage logs are always welcome — they're how the database stays alive.
