Flicka REDUX

Redux was photographed by Jay Cushman for Flicka Friends #68 (Spring 2020), riding on her mooring in Burnt Coat Harbor. The caption points out two details of her deck layout: a traveler mounted on the stern pulpit, and a jib rigged for self-tacking on a pair of green sheets. She took the front cover of the following issue, #69, in a photograph made near Swan's Island by Brian Krafjack of The Island Market and Supply while he was running mail and freight to Frenchboro.

2014:Complete engine installation with Yanmar 2YM15, 125 amp alternator, bilge pump, raw-water filter, drive shaft and 2-blade propeller.

Hull/deck joint refastened with Crest aluminum toerail and tracks; Schaefer blocks and deck hardware; Spinlock rope clutches; Lewmar 16ST 1-speed primary winches; stainless steel portlights by New Found Metals; complete Awlcraft/AwlGrip painting: cabin, deck and topsides; stainless steel bowsprit/anchor platform by Nautilus Marine;
Muir Storm manual windlass w. 125' chain and Rocna 22 anchor; self-draining chain locker; 12V electrical system with BlueSea breaker panels; Group 24 and Group 31 batteries;

Garmin GPSMAP 740S chartplotter with sonar and radar; iCom M400BB VHF with Command Mic; Harken Mark IV Unit 0 roller furler; Tides Marine sail track and slide system; mainsail with Dutchman flaking system and 135 genoa by Pope Sails (Rockland, ME); AirHead composting toilet.

2015: Interior cushions by Gemini Marine (Rockland, ME) and cockpit cushions by BottomSiders; Dwyer aluminum boom fitted for internal reefing and outhaul; Pope Sails 110 working jib and North Sails gennaker.
2016: Simrad TP10 tillerpilot and Garmin wind sensor installed. Interior renovation completed with removable fresh-water storage container in new galley locker; hatch and headliner trim completed; existing sink plumbed for salt water intake with Whale manual pump.

2017: Custom stainless steel compression posts (2) to support fiberglass/wood composite beam under cabin house roof; Lewmar 30ST 2-speed winches; C.S. Johnson split backstay tensioning system; Harken traveler with windward sheeting car; Nicro Day/Night Plus fan installed in main hatch.

2018: Thetford 260 porta-potty; AirHead composting toilet de-commissioned; ATN spinnaker sleeve.

2019: Garmin GPSMAP 742XS chart plotter; Sitex AIS transceiver; engine removed,
(exhaust elbow serviced), and reinstalled after installation of custom 12-gallon aluminum fuel tank; new Simrad TP-10 tillerpilot; port cockpit drain scupper replaced.
