History of Windfiddler
In Flicka Friends
Tom Foster bought Windfiddler, Pacific Seacraft hull #373, in Oriental, North Carolina in 1999 and has sailed her on Seneca Lake in New York State every season since. Writing in Flicka Friends #37 (Winter 2005), he described the pattern of her year: a mooring about halfway up the lake from June until early August, then back on the trailer to rest in a large barn overlooking the water until the next season. In the same piece he floated the idea of a Flicka rendezvous on Seneca for the Fourth of July, 2006, pointing out that the lake can be reached from anywhere in the world by way of the New York State Barge Canal.
She has been on the cover of Flicka Friends twice: #25 (Spring 2002), which also carries a page of photographs of her, and #37 (Winter 2005), whose cover shows her sailing on Seneca Lake. Both cover photographs are credited to Tom Foster.
