Joshua Wheeler berthed Sampaguita at Ballard Mill Marina in the Washington Ship Canal, so reaching Puget Sound meant a transit of the locks. His account in Flicka Friends #58 (Spring 2014) logs a two-day early-season cruise on 2-3 April 2014 — out through the locks and down to Blake Island on a single port tack held for seventy minutes without touching the tiller, then across to Bainbridge Island to pick up Kim and a reefed beat out of Eagle Harbour against fifteen knots of wind. The round trip came to 30.86 nautical miles in eight and a half hours of sailing.
She has since ranged well north of Puget Sound. The cover of Flicka Friends #65 (Winter 2016) shows her stern-tied to shore in Hardy Island Provincial Park on the Sunshine Coast of British Columbia, and Flicka Friends #66 records that Josh Wheeler spent twenty-four days exploring the Salish Sea aboard her, alongside a photograph of her waiting at the Ballard Locks at the beginning of a trip to the San Juan Islands, the Gulf Islands and Vancouver.
